Welcome to the International Institute of Tourism and Hospitality (IITH), Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. This is a premier institution located in the heart of the Niger Delta in South-South Nigeria, dedicated to excellence in Tourism, Hospitality, and allied disciplines.

The school was established in 2012 by the Bayelsa State Government with the mandate to develop highly skilled, industry-ready professionals not only in tourism and hospitality sectors but also in other professional fields of endeavour in Nigeria and beyond.

Following the successful accreditation of our National Diploma (ND) programmes by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) Kaduna in 2021, the Institution has experienced steady growth and transformation in various disciplines. Presently, IITH has expanded its academic offerings to include a diverse range of programmes across seven disciplines: Tourism Management Technology, Hospitality Management Technology, Fashion Design and Clothing Technology, Business Administration and Management, Public Administration, Computer Science, and Accountancy.

These programmes are delivered at both National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) levels, and housed in the School of Social Sciences, Management and Tourism Technology and the School of Science and Engineering Technology. We also have a Centre for Vocational and Entrepreneurship Studies (CVES) offering Certificate Programmes in contemporary vocational skills in line with the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF), for self-reliance.

Today, we are repositioning the Institute to reach for greater heights. Our desire is to impart quality in the life of every person who walks through the four walls of our dynamic Institution. At IITH Yenagoa, we are building strong collaboration with key industry players to promote academic excellence and skills competence to meet contemporary labour-market demands and promote self-reliance.

We are exposing our students to innovative practices and technological knowledge in the tourism and hospitality industry and related disciplines, and we are concerned with instilling excellence not just in learning, but in character and conduct. To this end, our classroom facilities, workshops, laboratories, studios, libraries and Tourism Village are redesigned with this in mind.
